Surfboards since '68

The man behind Chapter Custom Surfboards is Mervyn Beard. He became the shaper for Tiki surfboards starting his career in 1968. In 1970, he started his own brand CHAPTER in Devon, where it grew very quick, and was well known all across Europe. In 1992, Mervyn moved to Brandon Bay and continued shaping and glassing. His boards are well known for their perfect classic lines and the best possible glassing and finish.

Today, he still loves shaping the classic Longboard or retro fish for you. His knowledge about glassing and finish is passed on to Markus, who follows his ways of glassing to get the best out of the materials. All CHAPTER`s are handshaped by Mervyn, glassed and hand finished in the Seven workshop ( Brandon Bay ).

We are using the best PU blanks and the finest polyester resins to make a long lasting beauty for you. All Chapter boards come in a  polished gloss finish. They are timeless masterpieces, keeping the tradition of custom surfboards alive.
